Apple's Mac Tablet confirmed by analyst Gene Munster

Apple's ghost Mac tablet will come out for a fact next year, says senior Analyst Gene Munster. Of course, with all this buzz, something is probably going on. But as Munster does have some authority on Apple rumors, i.e. he is usually right, it is kind of interesting that Munster comes forward 'confirming' rumors. Munster believes the Mac tablet will come out early next year and will be priced somewhere between $500 and $700. Not very cheap indeed. A common netbook with 3G and the whole shabang will run you down only a few hundred dollars and with the Tegra devices due soon, you will get a whole lot more bang for that buck. Tegra has crazy long battery life and is capable of HD 720p playback. Of course the Mac tablet may in fact sport a Tegra soc itself, making it a real winner. But that remains to be seen.

Munster relies on statements made by an Asian supplier. This supplier reported to have received an order by Apple for a bunch of touchscreens.

Even more interesting, is the fact that the App store will be accessible from the tablet and that Apple is considering selling Ebooks through Itunes. That means the device will be suitable as an E-reader, without the E ink paper of course.
